Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

• Write compelling feature articles, news stories, interviews, and editorial pieces for the magazine's print and digital editions.
• Generate ideas for original content that aligns with the platform's editorial vision, audience interests, and industry trends.
• Conduct thorough research and interviews to gather accurate information and insights for articles.
• Ensure all content adheres to editorial guidelines, style standards, and brand voice.

Digital Content Production:

• Adapt and repurpose print articles for publication on 1Twenty80's website and other digital platforms.
• Create SEO-friendly headlines, meta descriptions, and tags to optimize online content for search engines.
• Collaborate with the digital team to enhance online articles with multimedia elements, such as images, videos, and interactive features.
• Monitor website analytics and reader feedback to inform content decisions and improve user engagement.

Editorial Collaboration:

• Work closely with the editorial team, including editors, fellow writers, and designers, to brainstorm ideas, develop editorial calendars, and coordinate content production.
• Provide editorial support, including proofreading, fact-checking, and editing, to ensure accuracy and quality in all published content.
• Participate in editorial meetings, pitch sessions, and story development discussions to contribute ideas and insights for upcoming issues and digital content.

Research and Stay Informed:

• Stay updated on current trends, developments, and research in the fields of health, medicine, nutrition, fitness, and wellness.
• Monitor industry news sources, scientific journals, and reputable websites to identify potential story ideas and stay abreast of emerging topics.
• Cultivate relationships with experts, professionals, and sources in the health and wellness community to facilitate access to accurate information and insights.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field.
• Proven writing experience, preferably in a journalistic or editorial capacity, with a portfolio of published articles or writing samples.
• Strong research skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from diverse sources.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Familiarity with AP style, journalistic ethics, and copyright laws.
• Understanding of SEO principles and best practices for digital content.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
• Passion for health, wellness, and storytelling.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
