Description :
Patient Examination and Diagnosis
- Perform detailed eye examinations using specialized equipment to evaluate vision and detect eye diseases and conditions.
- Diagnose visual problems, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and eye diseases like glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
Treatment and Management
- Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses, providing patients with various corrective options.
- Develop treatment plans for patients with eye problems, including prescribing medications and performing minor surgical procedures if necessary.
- Manage pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery.
Patient Education and Consultation
- Educate patients about eye health, preventive care, and how to maintain good vision.
- Provide guidance on proper eye care, including the use of protective eyewear and managing chronic eye conditions.
- Counsel patients on how certain lifestyle choices can affect their vision and overall eye health.
Administrative and Record Keeping
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up visits.
- Handle administrative tasks related to patient care, such as scheduling appointments and processing insurance paperwork.
Collaboration and Professional Development
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including ophthalmologists, opticians, and primary care physicians.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry by participating in continuing education and professional development activities.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM5,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
Experience:
- Optometrist: 3 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- License related to the role (Required)
