Position: Halal Executive
Requirements:
Muslim and Malaysian citizens ONLY. Priority is given to local Sabahan candidates.
Diploma or Degree in Food Technology/Food Science/Halal equivalent.
Certified Halal Executive with Halal Executive certification from JAKIM/HPB.
Minimum 5 years work experience as a Halal Executive in the Food or Hotel Industry.
Able to work on weekends and public holidays.
Trustworthy, reliable, honest, customer-oriented, and a team player.
Self-motivated and able to work independently, with minimum supervision.
Good interpersonal, communication, planning, management, leadership, and organizational skills.
Good decision-making and judgement skills.
Efficient, calm, and able to work under pressure.
Scope of duties:
The Halal Executive is responsible for the company's Food Safety, Quality, Hygiene, and Halal departments, ensuring compliance with the Halal specifications and requirements for these criteria.
The duties involve:
1. A member of the Internal Halal Committee
2. Upkeep, responsible and manage Malaysian Halal Certification application in the MyeHalal system
3. Manage all related documentation and record
4. Control and update the HAS manual in line with the requirement of MHMS 2020 and ensure implementation of HAS manual effectively and lead HAS development groups
5. Certify HAS related documents and activities or programs
6. Lead and manage the Internal Halal Committee, Hygiene and Food Quality & Safety teams
7. Chair and be the secretariat of Internal Halal Committee meetings (includes prepare meeting minutes)
8. Coordinates and manages all Internal Halal Committee activities or programs ensuring effective functions of the committee (includes internal halal audit and checklist, internal halal awareness training and other halal related training)
9. Liaise with the relevant departments on the Halal requirements (Management, Finance/Purchasing, Kitchen and Food & Beverage departments) in the company
10. Obtain commitment and approval from the company top management to develop and implement HAS
11. Check Food Safety and Halal compliance
12. Conduct monthly Food Safety, Hygiene and Halal Audits
13. Update ingredient in the master list and verify and confirm changes in raw materials, suppliers, products and processes as well as the main list of raw materials (Raw Material Master List)
14. Ensure Malaysian Halal Certification process is implemented properly by the Internal Halal Committee
15. Ensure HAS is implemented effectively based on MHMS 2020 requirements
16. Coordinate and maintain the Halal certification process, including documentation and audits
17. Ensure personal grooming and appearance and good personal hygiene of Kitchen and Food & Beverage teams
18. To assist visitation & audit from relevant authority e.g JAKIM, Muis-Halal, Ministry of Health
19. Ensure timeliness, quality, and deadlines of tasks, responsibilities, assignments and reports are met
20. Consults with superiors on daily requirements, and any requests by clients/suppliers
21. All other tasks and responsibilities as required and directed by superiors
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From RM2,500.00 per month
