The Role

As an Assistant Housekeeper, you will be responsible for supporting the Housekeeping operations and to deliver an excellent experience for the guest and associates. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Supports the overall Housekeeping operations, including Rooms, Public Area and Laundry sections
• Operate within departmental budgets through effective stock and cost controls and well managed schedules
• Support departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, operating budgets, and policies and procedures
• Ensure consistently high operating standards in every areas of Housekeeping, as identified by the brand standards
• Perform routine inspections of all Housekeeping areas and report any issues to the Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Executive Housekeeper
• Supports in the implementation of all Housekeeping policies and procedures, including Health and Safety and security
• Monitor the appearance, standards, and performance of all Housekeeping associates, including the outsourced contract workers with an emphasis on training and teamwork
• Ensure Housekeeping associates have an up-to-date knowledge of all room categories, amenities and facilities provided by the resort
• Assist the Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Executive Housekepeer in maintaining good communication and working relationship in all resort areas, including with external stakeholders and suppliers
• Ensure ongoing training is being implemented and to support the Executive Housekeeper in development of talents within the Housekeeping Department
• Ensure communication meetings are conducted at departmental level
• Support in managing associate performance and ensure that the processes are in compliance with Company policies and procedures

Talent Profile

• Minimum of 5 years working experience, with employment in a 5-star hotel or resort
  
• Experience in laundry operations will be an added advantage
• 1-2 years of Housekeeping supervisor experience in an international brand hotel or resort is preferred
• High level of commercial awareness and cost control capabilities
• Proficiency, at moderate level, with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Office programs
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
• Committed to delivering high levels of guest service
• Ability to work under pressure
• Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
• Knowledge of Workplace, Health, Safety and Hygiene is essential
• Strong communication skills
• A passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service
